| American Jewish Congress |
More Information |
The American Jewish Congress is an association of Jewish Americans organized to defend against threats to Jewish interests through vigorous public policy advocacy, in the courts, Congress, Executive branch and local legislatures and by working overseas with others similarly engaged.
Three subjects comprise the core agenda for our mission:
- Safety and security of Israel and Jews in the face of worldwide terrorism;
- Protection of Jewish communities in the U.S. and overseas against the new anti-Semitism;
- Preservation of religious freedom and other constitutionally guaranteed rights (including separation of Church and State) essential for protecting Jews and other threatened groups in America.
We consistently have held that only through the assertion of and defense of human rights in general can Jewish rights be guaranteed and our mission accomplished, and that only through the just application of law can we achieve the narrower goal of justice and safety for Jews.

They provide the first response to any terror attack, deal with hazardous materials incidents, serious traffic accidents and fires in residential, industrial and forest areas. They face great dangers to save lives and protect the property of all citizens of Israel. Because of economic difficulties facing the country in recent years, drastic government budget cuts have been implemented, leaving the Fire & Rescue Services without funds for new equipment and facilities. "Friends of Israel Firefighters" was established in March 2003 by a group of concerned citizens to address this urgent need. Our aim is to increase awareness of the wonderful work done by our firefighters, and to raise funds for the purchase of equipment, ranging from fire engines to new fire stations to protective gear.
